(Dan Tri) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is skeptical of the idea proposed by the French President about a ceasefire with Russia.

`The ceasefire will not prevent military assets from going deeper and then launching attacks. I don’t understand the details (of the ceasefire). To me, it seems like an impossible story.`

President Zelensky said he was skeptical about the proposal put forward by France.

France will host the Summer Olympics from July 26 to August 11.

In March, Mr. Macron also suggested asking Russia to enforce a ceasefire in Ukraine during the Olympics.

The Kremlin has rejected the French President’s proposal for a global ceasefire during the Olympics in France.

The Kremlin believes that Ukraine can take advantage of any ceasefire to regroup its forces and gain superiority on the battlefield.

`Both our president and military officials have pointed out that the Kiev authorities often use such ideas and initiatives to regroup, rearm… This certainly makes it worth considering such initiatives.`

President Putin once said that Moscow is ready to cooperate with Paris if France has goodwill.

President Macron caused a stir last month with his statement that the West did not rule out the possibility of sending troops into Ukraine to support Kiev.

Ukraine is making efforts to prepare for the first peace conference taking place in Switzerland next June.

President Zelensky in October 2022 proposed a 10-point `peace formula`, which included requiring Russia to withdraw all troops, restore Ukraine’s 1991 borders, and pay war compensation.

Meanwhile, Russia considers Ukraine’s peace proposal `no different from an ultimatum` and `far from reality`.
