(Dan Tri) – Ukraine’s President stated that Kiev forces would be more successful on the battlefield if they were not banned from using weapons provided by the West to attack targets in Russia.

In an interview with AFP news agency on May 18, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia’s ability to attack Ukraine from its own territory is giving Moscow an advantage in the conflict.

President Zelensky said that Kiev is falling into a `deadlock situation` due to the West’s stance of `fearing Russia will lose the war, but also not wanting Ukraine to lose`.
`Ukraine’s ultimate victory will lead to Russia’s defeat. And Russia’s ultimate victory will lead to Ukraine’s defeat,` he added.
`The Ukrainian government wants the war to end with a fair peace for us. Of course, the West wants the war to end as soon as possible. And for them, this is a fair peace,` said the general.
Previously, during a visit to Washington on May 14, Mr. David Arakhamia, leader of the ruling Serve the People party in the Ukrainian parliament, said that `the main problem today is the White House’s policy that is limiting the ability of
Ukrainian lawmakers have planned to lobby the US Congress to change policy.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, an official who visited Kiev earlier this week, said Washington `does not encourage or authorize attacks outside of Ukraine, but ultimately Ukraine must make its own decisions about how to proceed.`
Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh announced on May 16 that Washington’s stance that Kiev should not target Russia with weapons provided by the US remains unchanged.
Earlier this month, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron affirmed that if Ukraine wants, it has the `right` to use weapons provided by the UK to attack targets deep inside Russian territory.
The New York Times and Wall Street Journal reported on May 18 that Kiev had called on Washington to provide intelligence on targets on Russian territory in the context of Ukraine’s war in the Donbass and Kharkov regions facing difficulties.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced on May 17 that behind the attacks with Western weapons on Russian territory, the figures of the US and UK can be clearly seen when supporting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
