(Dan Tri) – The movie `Exhumation of Ghosts` recorded revenue of more than 200 billion VND in Vietnamese theaters after 3 weeks of release.

According to data from Box Office Vietnam (independent box office statistics unit), as of the afternoon of April 7, the movie Exhuma: Unearthing the Tomb of the Ghost directed by Jang Jae Hyun earned an additional 1.5 billion VND (total revenue).

Previously, in the first week of its release in theaters in Vietnam, Tomb of the Devil earned more than 90 billion VND, becoming the most popular movie today.

Before creating a fever in Vietnam, Quat a Ghost was released to Korean audiences in February. For 3 consecutive weeks, the film topped the box office revenue in Korea, becoming a high-grossing movie project.

In Vietnam, the film is labeled 16+, causing curiosity when combining spiritual elements with historical stories.

Not only does it have an impressive record in box office revenue, Quarrel Tomb also received quite positive reactions from the media as well as experts.

Holding the current top position at the Vietnamese box office is the blockbuster Godzilla x Kong: New Empire.

According to Mr. Hai, the great success of previous films is also a very favorable factor that helps Godzilla x Kong: New Empire attract a large audience to theaters.

CJ CGV Vietnam Content Director Nguyen Hoang Hai also said that not only in Vietnam but in the international market two blockbusters from Korea and the US are creating great attraction and success in terms of revenue.

Mr. Hai said that this is a good sign for the film industry when there are films achieving good box office revenue after a long period of being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

Regarding Vietnamese cinema, Mr. Hai said that we have had a very successful Tet film season (first quarter) in terms of revenue with Tran Thanh’s Mai and Nhat Trung’s Meeting My Pregnant Sister.

Entering the next weeks of April, many Vietnamese movies will hit the box office, such as: B4S – Before Love, Fragile Flower, The Price of Happiness and Face Off 7: One Wish.

According to Mr. Hai, audiences and experts put their expectations on two horses on the Vietnamese film race in April: The Price of Happiness (directed by Nguyen Ngoc Lam) and Face Off 7: One Wish (Ly Hai).
