(Dan Tri) – Talking about the habit of covering up to protect against the sun in the summer, many people often think of `ninja uniforms` which are thick and hot.
In recent days, a number of provinces and cities across the country have regularly faced intense heat, with ultraviolet rays (UV rays) always at a very high risk level.
Understand sunlight to properly protect yourself from the sun
Studies on sunlight and its impact on human health indicate that most of the skin effects of sunlight are due to UV radiation.
The unabsorbed UV-A and UV-B parts become harmful to the skin when directly exposed for long periods of time, leading to dark spots, dark spots, premature aging… and other health problems.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, up to 80% of UV rays can penetrate clouds, so even when the sun does not appear or is in the shade, human skin is still at risk of damage.
In our country, in the early days of summer this year, the National Meteorological Agency recommended that the ultraviolet ray index remain at the `very high risk of harm` threshold in many provinces and cities across the country.
Also according to Dr. Thanh, to protect against the sun, most people look for sunscreen and clothing and accessories because of their convenience and the feeling of almost instant protection.
What is effective sun protection clothing?
One of the ways to `read` the sun protection ability of clothing is the UPF index (Ultraviolet Protection Factor – protection index from ultraviolet rays).
Specifically, a product with a UPF index of 15 will protect you from 93% of harmful UV rays, only about 1/15 (about 7%) of UV rays can penetrate.
Normally, specialized sun protection clothing will display a UPF index of UPF50+.

There are many sunscreen products on the market today, but not all products have clear indicators and certifications.
`I bought this jacket at UNIQLO store about 1 year ago. According to my research, the jacket has a UPF50+ index, certified to protect against 98% of UV rays, so I can feel secure. Buying a sun protection jacket is easy, but to buy
UNIQLO’s sunscreen product line has two sun protection mechanisms: reflecting UV rays and absorbing UV rays.
UNIQLO’s sun protection product line is certified to help wearers block more than 90% of UV rays according to JIS L 1925:2019 certification standards (Photo: UNIQLO Vietnam).
UNIQLO’s signature sun protection products such as AIRism anti-UV mesh fabric shirt, DRY-EX super stretch anti-UV parka, pocket anti-UV parka… are popular with many Vietnamese customers (Photo: UNIQLO Vietnam).
