(Dan Tri) – Converging many strengths to compete with rivals, Mitsubishi Xforce will face many challenges if it wants to reach the top position in the urban SUV segment in our country.

Mitsubishi Xforce is a name that is receiving a lot of attention from users.

However, waiting for Xforce will be dozens of names, typically Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V, Toyota Yaris Cross, Mazda CX-3, MG ZS, Peugeot 2008 and Nissan Kicks.

As a carefully prepared product, Mitsubishi Xforce has the opportunity to compete for market share with previous products.

Competitive opportunity

According to sales consultants, Mitsubishi Xforce will be launched to Vietnamese customers at the end of December this year, or early January 2024.

When incentives no longer exist, users will tend to lean towards imported cars like Xforce.

Appearance can also be an advantage of the Mitsubishi Xforce.

The equipment of Mitsubishi Xforce has not been revealed, but this model is expected to have technology content not inferior to its competitors.

According to experts, Mitsubishi Xforce will have at least 3 versions in Vietnam (Photo: Huy Hung).

Looking at photos of the car at the port, it can be seen that the Mitsubishi Xforce for the Vietnamese market will have front/rear LED lights, 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels depending on the version.

In this segment, Hyundai Creta has ADAS on the most advanced version called Hyundai SmartSense, Honda HR-V is equipped with Honda Sensing on all versions, Toyota Yaris Cross has Toyota Safety Sense package right from the gasoline version.

The challenge is not small

The dealer said that Mitsubishi Xforce has an expected price of 650-750 million VND, belonging to the mid-range of the B-SUV segment.

If the highest selling price is set at about 750 million VND, Mitsubishi Xforce will also face competitive pressure from two products in the C-SUV segment such as Mazda CX-5 (starting at 749 million VND) and Hyundai Tucson (from

Considering the SUV-B segment alone, Mitsubishi Xforce is unlikely to be successful at the above expected price, while the lessons of the Hyundai Creta are still there.

In March 2022, Hyundai Creta was first introduced to Vietnamese customers.

At that time, the Hyundai Creta was the car model with the most technology in the segment, but according to sales consultants, most users chose to buy the mid-range version (690 million VND) rather than the high-end version with the Hyundai SmartSense package.

At the end of May this year, Kia Seltos suddenly had its selling price adjusted by Thaco, reducing it by 50-70 million VND, with a new starting price of 599 million VND and the highest of 724 million VND, significantly lower than the Creta.

The price adjustment has helped Kia Seltos regain its competitive advantage over its `compatriot` from Korea.

From the beginning of the year to the end of September, Hyundai Creta is still leading with a total of 6,313 cars sold, Kia Seltos recorded cumulative sales of 6,243 units.

As for MG ZS, Peugeot 2008 and Nissan Kicks, sales results were not announced.

This shows that Vietnamese customers still pay a lot of attention to products with attractive prices and equipment that only needs to be sufficient.

Experts say that Xforce needs to have a good selling price if it aims to be number 1 in the B-size urban SUV segment. The high-end variant with the ADAS package will hardly be cheap, but the mid-range version can become the mainstay if
