Despite the fact that many car models, such as Hyundai Tucson, Toyota Raize, or Ford Explorer…, are being `inflated` by dealers, selling them for a difference of several tens to hundreds of millions of dong compared to the listed price, car consumption is strong.
Specifically, the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) announced that sales of its member units in March reached 36,962 vehicles of all types, an increase of 60% compared to February. This is the full result.
Considering the entire market, VinFast Fadil regained the throne after a month of being usurped by Toyota Corolla Cross, even disappearing from the Top 10. Honda City also returned to the Top 10, while Kia Carnival and Hyundai Grand i10 were eliminated.
Breaking down data for each segment also shows interesting and unexpected usurpations.

The developments in the pickup truck segment are similar to low-cost class A cars, when the `king` Ford Ranger returned to the No. 1 position after a month of being usurped by Mitsubishi Triton.
The MPV segment also recorded a change in ranking position, due to the addition of the Toyota Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio duo.
The remaining segments have almost no disturbance in rankings.
In the B-size car segment, most car models have seen sales growth, Toyota Vios is still at the top, followed by Hyundai Accent, Honda City, Mitsubishi Attrage, Kia Soluto and Mazda2…
The urban high-riding vehicle segment recorded the solid No. 1 position of Toyota Corolla Cross, with sales nearly twice as high as rival Kia Seltos.
Meanwhile, in the C-class crossover segment, all car models have much better sales compared to the previous month.

Fierce competition in the MPV segment
New factors have continuously appeared in the MPV market.
Mitsubishi Xpander 2022 has arrived at Hai Phong port but the official launch date is unknown.
Xpander 2022 is essentially an upgraded version in the middle of the life cycle of the generation launched in 2017. The car has arrived at Hai Phong port, imported from Indonesia.
Thus, the 7-seat MPV segment under 1 billion VND is becoming extremely competitive in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Xpander is still at a safe distance, but cannot avoid pressure from potential competitors.
In addition to the three names mentioned above, this segment also includes Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova.
